ICT Intern

Job Summary

We are seeking to a motivated and detail-oriented ICT Intern with a strong interest in cybersecurity to join our team. The ideal candidate should have foundational knowledge in information security and a passion for identifying and mitigating security risks. This internship offers hands-on exposure to IT systems, network security and securing monitoring practices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Set up, configuration, maintenance and administration of printers, servers, internal systems, hardware, applications and Local premise cloud infrastructure.
2. Installation and maintenance of computer networks (LAN), support system updates & patch management.
3. Monitoring of systems to ensure minimal or no downtime at all for the various entities including emails, the documents’ server, all telephone lines, the ERP system and cloud-based servers.
4. Data backup and storage for both premise-based infrastructure and cloud-based infrastructure.
5. Security monitoring on the various systems through vulnerability assessments, server hardening & security best practices to ensure protection of critical organization data.
6. Hardware repairs and replacement of parts when machines and electronic gadgetry develop problems.
7. Maintenance of IT infrastructure and resources in the organization.
8. Support the team in identifying and resolving software defects and issues through troubleshooting and debugging techniques
9. Training of users on information security, data and awareness on security while handling company-sensitive data.
10. Prepare reports on security incidents and system performance.
11. Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Qualifications and Experiences:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or a related field
2. Basic knowledge of network security, firewalls, antivirus systems and data protection principles.
3. Familiarity with ERP system and relevant certifications such as Security+ will be an added advantage.
4. Hands on experience in ICT infrastructure handling, set up, commissioning and maintenance
5. Strong analytical, problem solving and coordination skills.
6. High level of integrity, reliability and attention to detail.
